Patient Support Group

Participants exchange information, share experiences and coping strategies and make new friends. Survivors provide peer support.

Relaxation techniques for stress reduction are introduced.

Target: Newly diagnosed and patients in treatment
Service fee: Free

Cantonese sessions

  1. Patient Support Group: For newly diagnosed patients with stage 0 to 3 breast cancer, aged 40 or above.

    Meets Wednesdays 2:00 – 4:00 pm

  2. Young Patient Support Group: Newly diagnosed patients with stage 0 to 3 breast cancer, and aged below. (INSERT AGE)

    Meets Thursdays 2:00 to 4:00pm

  3. Advanced Breast Cancer Group (Phoenix Group): Patients with stage 4 breast cancer or with recurrent breast cancer.

    Meets Fridays 2:00 to 4:00 pm

  4. Survivors’ Group (Sunflower Group): Breast cancer patients/survivors who have completed their treatments.

    Meets monthly

English session

English speakers of any age with stage 0 to 3 breast cancer.

Meets Mondays 10:00 am to 12:00 noon

(No patient support services on public holidays)

Family Support Group

Patients’ families receive advice, information and support.

Through sharing worries and inner feelings as caregivers participants learn how better to support recovering patients.

Target: Family members of breast cancer patient
Service fee: Free
Cantonese sessions: Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays 2:00 to 4:00 pm
English session: Mondays 10:00 am to 12:00 noon

Peer Telephone Support

An alternative to support groups, our peer phone service addresses the patient’s need for care, support and being heard. We connect patients with those who share their needs and with survivors prepared to share their experiences in coping with breast cancer.

Target: Breast cancer patients
Service fee: Free

Individual Counseling Service

Patients and/or their families discuss stress reduction, relationship issues and psychological support for adjusting to life with cancer in face-to-face counseling session.

In-depth counseling service is available.
