Pink Ribbon Concert with Pianist SUH, Hai Kyung

 

Each year the Hong Kong Breast Cancer Foundation (HKBCF) dedicates the month of May as “Breast Cancer Survivorship Month” to recognize and celebrate the determination, care and mutual support among breast cancer survivors and their families and friends. It also aims to raise public awareness of breast health and the importance of positivity and optimism in the support of breast cancer survivors.

 

This year “Breast Cancer Survivorship Month”was launched with a cross cultural collaboration between breast cancer survivors in Hong Kong and Korea in a joint performance at the Pink Ribbon Concert on 16 May. The evening also marked the first public performance by the HKBCF’s choir “Melody in Mind”. World renowned Korean pianist and breast cancer survivor Ms Suh Hai-Kyung, together with the Korean Women’s Association of Hong Kong Choir, Korea Breast Cancer Survivor’s Choir, and Melody in Mind presented an evening of heartfelt piano melodies and angelic voices in support of breast cancer survivors. Two of the choral performances also featured dance accompaniment by students of Howan Ballet and the Po Leung Kuk Lam Man Chan English Primary School.
